Motorcycle Accidents in Missouri
Every year, thousands of motorcyclists across the United States are fatally injured in crashes. Tens of thousands of others are left with significant injuries that negatively affect their lives. Some of the most common injuries reported a motorcycle accident here in the state of Missouri include:
- Neck injuries
- Back injuries
- Head injuries
Unfortunately, trying to overcome any type of painful injury can be devastating. Many victims deal with overwhelming physical and emotional pain. The financial burdens that victims face can be challenging as well.
In some cases, injured parties are able to seek financial compensation from the person who caused the accident to occur. There are a few things that you need to keep in mind when determining if you have a legal case or not.
First, did the other driver do something to cause the accident? If so, they may be held liable for your injuries. Second, were you injured as a result of the accident? If so, you may be able to recover damages for your medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
Third, what type of insurance does the other driver have? In Missouri, drivers are required to carry liability insurance in order to financially protect themselves in the event that they cause an accident and someone is injured. However, some drivers choose to only carry the minimum amount of coverage or no coverage at all. If the other driver is underinsured or uninsured, you may still be able to recover damages through your own insurance policy or by filing a personal injury lawsuit against the at-fault driver.
