Cooper, MO (October 15, 2022) – A traffic collision reported in Cooper County left two people injured. At around 12:50 p.m., on October 14, calls for assistance were received by the Missouri State Highway Patrol regarding a vehicle wreck on Interstate 70.
According to MSHP, a 2010 Ford Edge and a 2012 Ford Fusion collided on the westbound side of Interstate 70. As a result of the collision, the Fusion went off the left side of the roadway and struck the median cable barrier. The crash caused delays near mile marker 97.8.
Two people in the Fusion, 19-year-old Claudia Sanchez-Fuentes and 51-year-old Walter Bonilla Ayala, were both injured in the crash. The victims were transported by Cooper County EMS to University Hospital, where they underwent treatment for their injuries.
