Jefferson, MO (October 8, 2022) – A traffic incident reported in Jefferson County on Thursday afternoon left a 61-year-old woman hurt. On October 6, emergency crews were notified that a collision on Missouri State Route 21 required assistance.

According to local law enforcement, at approximately 3:12 p.m., a traffic incident between a 2004 Lincoln MKZ and a 2016 Hyundai Accent occurred on Missouri State Route 21 just south of Liberty Ridge Road. The two involved vehicles were moderately damaged and had to be towed from the scene by area towing companies.

The driver of the Hyundai, 61-year-old Theresa Benton of De Soto, Missouri, suffered injuries as a result of the collision. Benton was transported to Mercy Hospital South by Val ambulance, where she underwent treatment for her injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation at this time.
