Motorcycle Accidents in Missouri

Jefferson, MO – Richard Lalk, Jr Injured in Auto Wreck on Antire Rd near Brookside DrEach year, accidents involving motor vehicles leave tens of thousands of people hurt in the state of Missouri. There are many cases where innocent people are left with significant injuries as a result of negligence.

One of the most common causes of car accidents in Missouri is speeding. Speeding can increase your risk of getting into a car accident by causing you to miss important warning signals or turn corners too quickly. In addition, speeding can make it harder for drivers to avoid other cars and pedestrians.

Distracted driving also contributes to car accidents in Missouri. Distracted driving includes driving while using handheld devices, eating or drinking, talking on the phone, or texting. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, distracted driving accounts for about one-third of all fatal car crashes in Missouri. When you’re distracted by something else, you’re not paying attention to the road and your vehicle’s surroundings. This can lead to collisions with other vehicles or pedestrians.

Running red lights also contributes to car accidents in Missouri. Running red lights causes traffic congestion that can lead to an accident. Red light runners also put other drivers at risk by making them run the stop sign at an intersection when they could have just driven through without stopping if they had known there was no traffic ahead of them at the red light.

In addition to speed and distractions, weather conditions also contribute to car accidents in Missouri. We see countless accidents take place as a result of icy road conditions, heavy rain, and foggy areas decreasing visibility for drivers. Inclement weather continues to be one of the most common causes of crashes in our state.

If you have been hurt as a result of a traffic collision, you may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit against the driver who is at fault. A Jefferson car accident lawyer can help you protect your legal rights.
