Jefferson, MO (October 27, 2022) – One man was left injured following a traffic collision that took place in Jefferson County. Just after 5 p.m., on October 24, troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a collision that occurred on Interstate 55.

According to law enforcement, a 2009 Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling southbound on Interstate 55. At the same time, a 2013 Freightliner Cascadia was traveling southbound next to it. Next to the Freightliner was a 2018 GMC 3500, which is also traveling southbound in Lane one. For unknown reasons, the driver of the Mercury made an improper lane change and struck the Freightliner. The vehicle then struck the GMC.

The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to travel off the left side of the roadway and strike a concrete barrier. The GMC and the Mercury were both moderately damaged in the accident.

One person involved in the crash, 71-year-old Dana Brown of Mountain Grove, Missouri, suffered injuries in the accident. The victim was transported by Rock Township Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital South, where they were provided treatment for the injuries they suffered.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.

Our thoughts are with Dana Brown as we hope for his full recovery.
