Car Accidents in Missouri
A motor vehicle accident can change your life entirely. This is especially true if you have suffered serious injuries. Many people who suffer physically and emotionally following accidents often face significant financial consequences as well. If you’ve been hurt as a result of another driver’s negligence, you may be able to file a personal injury case. In order to prevail, you must be able to demonstrate that the defendant was at fault.
To determine fault in a Missouri car crash, the first thing you need to do is gather evidence. This includes things like witness statements, photos of the scene, and any police reports that were filed. Once you have this evidence, you will need to determine what happened and who was at fault. This can be tricky, but there are some general guidelines you can follow.
If one driver ran a red light or stop sign, they will likely be found at fault. If one driver was speeding or driving recklessly, they may also be held responsible. If both drivers were breaking the law or acting negligently, then fault may be split between them.
Once fault has been determined, the next step is to file a claim with the appropriate insurance company. Be sure to include all of the evidence you gathered when filing your claim.
