Knob Noster, MO (October 29, 2022) – A traffic incident took place in Johnson County that ended in injuries, according to crash reports provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. On October 26, troopers were called to the scene of a crash on US Highway 50.
Preliminary investigations into the collision show that just after 8:10 p.m., a 2013 Dodge avenger passed a 2018 Jeep on US Highway 50 just east of Route P. For reasons unknown, the two vehicles collided near the centerline. The impact of the collision caused the dogs to slide off the right side of the roadway and overturn.
Two people suffered injuries due to the crash. EMS responded to the scene and rendered aid to 18-year-old De Nysha Brame and 57-year-old Laura Monsees. Brame was then transported by JCAD to Western Missouri Medical Center, where she underwent treatment for her injuries.
The collision remains under investigation at this time.
Our thoughts are with De Nysha Brame and Laura Monsees at this time.
Car Accidents in Missouri
Auto collisions that result in injuries take place every single day in the state of Missouri. Quite often, innocent people are harmed as a result of driver negligence. There are many cases where people have to be hospitalized for an extended period to recover from their injuries. Although no accidents are alike, there are similarities in the injuries that victims are left with. Common injuries reported in vehicle collisions include:
- Burn injuries: Burns can happen in accidents involving cars, as well as in fires caused by cars. These burns can cause extensive damage to the skin and tissues of the body, which may take a long time to heal. Many victims who suffer burn injuries are left with permanent scarring.
- Injuries from airbags: Airbags protect drivers and passengers from being injured in an accident. If they deploy, they can force the person’s body into a position where bones in their neck may break. This can result in serious injuries, including spinal cord damage.
- Injuries from flying objects: Objects that fly around in vehicles during an accident may injure people in and near their vehicles. This can result in severe lacerations, puncture wounds, and other painful injuries.
