Lathrop, MO (October 4, 2022) – A traffic incident took place in Clinton County on Monday morning that left a 23-year-old woman injured. At around 7:30 a.m., on October 3, emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash on Interstate 35.

According to local law enforcement, a 2019 Hyundai Elantra was traveling northbound on Interstate 35. As the vehicle slowed down to attempt to turn left into the median crossing just north of the Lathrop exit, a 2006 Ford F250 pickup truck crashed into the rear of the Hyundai. The impact of the crash caused the Hyundai to cross the southbound lanes of the interstate and travel off the west side of the roadway. The vehicle came to rest in a ditch.

The driver of the Hyundai, 23-year-old Aiden Chan of Lawrence, Kansas, was injured in the crash. She was transported by Tri-County Ambulance to Liberty Hospital, where she underwent emergency care.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.

Our thoughts are with Aiden Chan as we hope for her full recovery.
