Car Accidents in Missouri

Lone Jack, MO – Man Injured in Auto Wreck on Route F near Kline RdVehicle wrecks continue to be a leading cause of accidental death and injuries in our state each year. Unfortunately, there are many cases where people are hurt as a result of drivers who engage in negligent actions.

In Missouri, car accidents are governed by the law of negligence. This means that the person who caused the accident is typically liable for any damages that result. However, there are some exceptions to this rule. For example, if both drivers were equally at fault for the accident, then they would each be responsible for their own damages.

There are also some circumstances in which a driver may be considered partially at fault for an accident. For instance, if a driver was speeding or failed to yield the right of way, they may be found partially at fault. In these cases, the amount of damages that the driver is liable for will be reduced by the percentage of fault.

It is important to note that Missouri is a comparative negligence state. What this means is that even if you are found to be partially at fault for the motor vehicle accident taking place, you can still recover damages from the other driver as long as their fault was greater than yours.

Should you be harmed as a result of an accident, it is important that you reach out to a car accident lawyer in Lone Jack right away. A knowledgeable attorney will be able to help you prove your case and demonstrate that the defendant was at fault for the crash.
