Maryville, MO (October 25, 2022) – A traffic incident reported in Nottoway County left one man seriously injured. On October 22, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a crash that took place on US Highway 136.
At around 9:40 p.m., crews were called to the scene of a crash that occurred on US Highway 136. Preliminary investigations show that a 2010 Toyota Highlander and a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck were both traveling westbound on US Highway 136. For unknown reasons, the vehicles became involved in a collision on the roadway just west of Maple Drive. The force of the collision caused the Chevrolet to travel off the north side of the roadway and strike a fence. The vehicle then became airborne and struck a tree.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 36-year-old David Morriss of Guilford, Missouri, suffered serious injuries in the crash. Morriss was flown by Clarinda Air Ambulance to Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, where he was treated for his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
Our thoughts are with David Morriss as we hope for his full recovery.
