Truck Accidents in Missouri
Every day, innocent people in the state of Missouri are left injured following vehicle collisions. In many cases, people suffer injuries and crashes that are caused by drivers who engage in acts of negligence.
In Missouri, if you are found to be even partially at fault for an automobile collision, you may still be able to recover damages from the other party. This is because Missouri uses a pure comparative fault system. Under this system, your damages will be reduced by the percentage of fault that you contributed to the crash. For example, if you are found to be 20% at fault for a traffic collision, any damages you recover will be reduced by 20%.
There are two types of recoverable damages in Missouri: economic and non-economic. Economic damages include things like medical bills, lost wages, and property damage. Non-economic damages include things like pain and suffering, emotional distress, and loss of enjoyment of life.
