Car Accidents in Missouri

Newtonia, MO – Woman Injured in Two-Vehicle Wreck on MO-86Every year, tens of thousands of innocent people are hurt as a result of traffic collisions in the state of Missouri. Unfortunately, there are several factors that contribute to these accidents taking place. Some of the leading causes of vehicle collisions in our state include:

Distracted driving: With the increasing use of smartphones and other devices, distracted driving has become a leading cause of auto collisions across our state. Drivers who are distracted by cell phones and other devices are more likely to make mistakes that can lead to serious accidents.

Drunk driving: drivers who are impaired are another major cause of vehicle collisions in Missouri. Drivers who get behind the wheel after drinking alcohol increase their risk of causing an accident significantly.

Speeding: Speeding is one of the most common contributing factors to car accidents. When drivers exceed the posted speed limit or drive too fast for the conditions, they put themselves and others at risk of being involved in a serious accident.

Weather conditions: Missouri is known for its severe weather, and this can often lead to car accidents. Snow, ice, and rain can make roads slick and dangerous, and high winds can cause vehicles to lose control.

Road conditions: Poorly maintained roads can also contribute to motor vehicle accidents taking place. Potholes, debris, and other road hazards can cause vehicle operators to lose control and cause serious auto collisions.
