Oak Grove, MO – Susan James Hospitalized following I-70 crash near MM 27

Oak Grove, MO (October 18, 2022) – A traffic incident took place in Jackson County that left a 64-year-old woman with moderate injuries on Sunday evening. On October 16, troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol received a notification that a collision occurred on Interstate 70 that required assistance.

At around 4:36 p.m., a red 2017 Kia Forte swerved on the westbound side of Interstate 70 and struck a white 2009 Pontiac Torrent near mile marker 27. The red Kia Forte collided with a blue 2022 Kia Carnival. The carnival and the Pontiac both went on the left side of the roadway. The red Kia traveled on the right side of the roadway and landed in a ditch. All three vehicles had to be towed away from the scene of the accident due to the extent of damage.

The driver of the Pontiac, 64-year-old Susan James of Blue Springs, Missouri, suffered moderate injuries in the crash. She was transported to Centerpoint Hospital, where she underwent emergency medical care.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
