Car Accidents in Missouri
Auto collisions in Missouri leave more than 55,000 people injured every year. Unfortunately, there are several actions that reckless and negligent drivers take that continue to cause harm to others. Some of the leading factors that we see in collisions include:
- Distracted Driving: Distracted driving is any activity that takes a driver’s attention away from the road. This can include talking or texting on a cell phone, eating, drinking, talking to passengers, messing with the radio, or anything else that takes their focus off of driving. Distracted driving is one of the leading causes of car accidents in Missouri and across the country.
- Speeding: Speed limits are put in place for a reason – to keep drivers and others safe on the road. When drivers exceed the posted speed limit, they increase their chances of being involved in an accident. Speeding makes it harder to stop or maneuver if something unexpected happens on the road.
- Driving Under the Influence: Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is never a good idea. Not only is it illegal, but it dramatically increases your chances of being involved in an accident. If you’re going to drink, don’t get behind the wheel.
If you have suffered injuries as a result of a collision that was caused by the negligent or reckless acts of another driver, you may be entitled to compensation for your injuries and damages. A car accident lawyer in Springfield will be able to help you better understand your rights and legal options moving forward.
