St Francois, MO (October 18, 2022) – A traffic collision took place in St. Francois that left a 17-year-old girl injured. At around 9:15 p.m., on October 16, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a crashing Missouri State Route 8.
According to local law enforcement, a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze was stopped at the intersection of Missouri State Route 8 and Route P. For unknown reasons, the driver of a 2018 Chevrolet Trax failed to observe that the vehicle was stopped in the westbound lane. As a result, the two vehicles collided. The Chevrolet Cruze came to rest in the middle of the roadway. The Chevrolet Trax traveled on the roadway and struck an embankment before overturning. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene of the accident as a result of the damage.
A 17-year-old female from Potosi, Missouri, suffered injuries in the accident. She was transported to Parkland Health Center Farmington by St. Francois County EMS.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
