St James, MO (October 25, 2022) – Multiple casualties were reported as a result of a three-vehicle crash that occurred in Phelps County on Sunday evening. At around 4:15 p.m., on October 23, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a crash on Interstate 44.

Preliminary investigations provided by MSHP indicate that a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado went off the right side of the roadway on the eastbound side of Interstate 44 near mile marker 195. After striking a guardrail and reentering the road, the Chevrolet crashed into a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. The vehicle then struck a 2022 Volvo. The impact of the crash sent the 2014 Chevrolet off the left side of the roadway, where it overturned.

Multiple people suffered injuries due to the traffic collision. EMS responded to the scene and rendered aid to 31-year-old Kenneth Klein of Los Crucel, New Mexico, 65-year-old Karen Moore of St. Peter’s, Missouri, and 67-year-old Judy Brady of Wentzville, Missouri. The three victims were then transported to Phelps Health Hospital in Rolla, Missouri, where they underwent further treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is actively investigating the crash.

We hope Judy Brady, Kenneth Klein, and Karen Moore recover quickly following this accident.

Car Accidents in Missouri

St James, MO – Three Injured in Three-Vehicle Wreck on I-44 near MM 195Motor vehicle accidents are often a result of drivers who engage in reckless actions. We see many innocent people hurt every day as a result of speeding drivers, impaired motorists, and drivers who are distracted while behind the wheel. After being harmed in a collision, you can file a personal injury lawsuit to seek financial compensation to cover your damages.

In Missouri, the court will follow the rule of pure comparative negligence if you are involved in a car accident. This means that the court will look at each driver’s negligence in causing the accident and apportion blame accordingly.

The amount of damages each driver is liable for will be determined by the amount of fault they share. For instance, if you were found to be 10 percent at fault for an accident and awarded $100,000 for your damages, the compensation you recover would be decreased by 10 percent. As a result, you would collect $90,000 for the damages you suffered.

This rule can be complicated, so it’s essential to have an experienced St. James car accident lawyer on your side who can help you navigate the legal process and ensure that you receive the compensation you deserve.
