St Louis, MO (October 23, 2022) – Authorities were called to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident in the St. Louis area that left one man injured. At around 5:50 PM, October 20, emergency crews were called to the scene of the crash on Interstate 270.
According to local law enforcement, a 2017 Volvo VNL, a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, a 2017 Chevrolet Spark, and a 2021 Jeep Compass were all traveling eastbound on Interstate 270. For unknown reasons, the Volvo collided with the rear of the Chevrolet Silverado just west of US Highway 67. The impact of the crash caused the Silverado to strike the Chevrolet Spark. The Spark then struck the rear of the Jeep.
the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, 42-year-old Ricardo Bennett of Troy, Illinois, suffered injuries in the crash. Bennett was transported by Hazelwood fire protection District to SSM Health Depaul Hospital, where he underwent emergency care.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
Our thoughts are with Ricardo Bennett as we hope for his full recovery.
