St Louis, MO (October 4, 2022) – A crash involving multiple vehicles took place in the St. Louis area, leaving one woman seriously injured. On October 3, emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash on Interstate 270.
At around 1:26 p.m., a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, a 2020 Nissan Altima, a 2017 Ford Escape, and a 2018 Ford Escape were all stopped on the northbound side of Interstate 270 just south of I 70. For unknown reasons, the driver of a 2012 Ford F3 50 failed to keep a proper lookout. As a result, the vehicle crashed into the Nissan.
The impact of the crash caused the Nissan to rotate and strike the Hyundai and the 2018 Ford. The Hyundai then struck the 2017 Ford. Several vehicles were significantly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
The driver of the Nissan, 62-year-old Patricia Long, suffered serious injuries in the crash. Long was transported by Maryland Heights Fire Protection District to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, where she underwent emergency care.
The crash remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with Patricia Long as we hope for her full recovery.
