Cape Girardeau, MO (September 11, 2022) – An automobile accident reported in Cape Girardeau sent one person to a local hospital with injuries. At around 7:55 a.m., on September 8, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Missouri State Route 177.
Reports from authorities show that a 2019 Nissan Rogue failed to yield to a 2002 Honda Civic while driving on Missouri State Route 177, just one mile north of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. As a result, both vehicles collided. The two vehicles were totaled as a result of the collision and had to be removed from the scene.
The driver of the Honda, 25-year-old Joshua Maine, was injured in the crash. Maine, who is from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, was transported to St Francis Medical Center for further care.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
