Ellington, MO – Heather Cates, Trevor Swaringam & Two Juveniles Hurt in Auto Wreck on County Rd 106-B

Ellington, MO (September 26, 2022) – Authorities in Shannon County were dispatched to the site of a traffic incident on Sunday morning that left several people injured. At 11:45 a.m., on September 25, calls for help came in surrounding your crash on County Road 106-B.

Reports provided by trooper JM Kenyon show that a collision between a 2016 Arctic Cat Caterpillar and a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro occurred on County Road 106-B, just 10 miles west of Ellington, Missouri.

Several people involved in the accident were injured. A 7-year-old male was transported by ground ambulance to St. Louis Children’s Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries. A 12-year-old male was transported by air ambulance to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, where he underwent emergency care.

Two other people were also injured in the crash. The victims were identified as 20-year-old Trevor Swaringam and 38-year-old Heather Cates. Swaringam was transported by ground ambulance to iron County Medical Center for the treatment of minor injuries. Cates was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, where she underwent emergency care for serious injuries.

The incident remains under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol at this time.
