St Louis, MO – MVA with Injuries Reported on I-70 near Lucas and Hunt Rd

St Louis, MO (September 22, 2022) – An auto collision reported in St. Louis left one man injured. Around 10:30 p.m., on September 19, authorities were dispatched to a crash on Interstate 70.

Preliminary reports show that a 2007 Chevrolet Impala became disabled in lane one on the westbound side of Interstate 70 just west of Lucas and Hunt Road. The driver of a 2022 Nissan kick was traveling on the westbound side of the roadway and was unable to stop to avoid a collision. As a result, the Nissan crashed into the rear of the Chevrolet. Both vehicles were severely damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

A 23-year-old man involved in the accident, identified as Darione Stephenson, was injured. Stephenson had to be transported by Northeast Fire Protection District to SSM Health Depaul Hospital, where he was provided care.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash at this time.
