St Louis, MO (September 24, 2022) – Authorities in St. Louis were called to the scene of a traffic incident that left one female injured. At 750 p.m., on September 21, calls for help came in surrounding a traffic incident that occurred on Interstate 70.
Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2020 Honda Civic and a tractor-trailer were both traveling eastbound on Interstate 70. For unknown reasons, the tractor-trailer crashed into the rear of the Honda near Jennings Station Road. The impact of the crash sent the Honda off the side of the roadway, where he collided with a guard rail. The vehicle then returned to the roadway and struck a concrete center median.
The Honda was totaled as a result of the crash and had to be removed from the scene.
The driver of the Honda, 24-year-old Sydney Oats of Belleville, Illinois, was injured. Oats was transported to SSM Health Depaul Hospital by Northeast fire protection District, where she underwent emergency treatment.
A crash investigation is underway by the Missouri State Highway Patrol at this time.
Our thoughts are with Sydney Oats as we hope for her full recovery.
