Franklin, MO (January 8, 2022) – One woman has lost her life as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Franklin County on Wednesday evening, January 5. At around 7 p.m., authorities were notified that a crash took place on Interstate 44.
Reports from Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2014 Volkswagen Passat was traveling the wrong way on Interstate 44 when it crashed into a 2019 Buick Enclave near mile marker 236.4.
The driver of both vehicles were injured. EMS transported 22-year-old Emily Hernandez to Mercy Hospital St Louis for care. A second ambulance transported 36-year-old Ryan Wilson to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries.
A third victim, identified as 32-year-old Victoria Wilson, was pronounced deceased atr the scene.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
