Lebanon, MO (June 27, 2022) – An appeal accident reported in Laclede County claimed one woman’s life. At around 10 a.m., on June 26, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified that a motor vehicle accident took place on Highway 5 that required assistance.
Reports provided by MSHP Trooper JD Morrison show that a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu and a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado collided on Highway 5, just 6 miles north of Lebanon. Both vehicles sustained significant damage as a result of the accident and had to be towed from the scene.
The driver of the Malibu, 25-year-old Baylee Smith, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the accident. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger inside the Silverado, 61-year-old Karen Price, sustained injuries in the accident. Price was transported to Lake Regional Hospital for emergency medical care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
