The accident occurred on Thompson and Askew avenues in the wee hours of the morning. Around 3 a.m., law enforcement officials were called to the scene.
Investigators report that a white BMW first collided with a tree and then a parked car. Preliminary investigations reveal that speeding may have been a contributing factor in the accident.
The car turned out to be stolen. Authorities stated that the car was first reported stolen in Omaha. The vehicle had three occupants. One individual died, while two others were rushed to area hospitals for treatment.
Of the two individuals who were sent to the hospital, one was listed in critical condition while the other suffered only two minor injuries.
