Weldon Spring, MO (November 17, 2020) – One man died and three additional people sustained injuries during a head-on collision on Sunday, November 15th along Highway 94.

Officials from the Missouri State Highway Patrol have since identified the fatal victim as 43-year-old Justin R. Luckett, a resident of St. Charles.

The accident took place at about 6:00 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Highway 94, near the Weldon Spring boat ramp.

Police reports indicate that Luckett was traveling westbound along the highway in a 1995 Nissan Sentra when, for reasons that have yet to be determined, his vehicle and an oncoming 2017 Nissan Maxima collided head-on.

Luckett was transported via ambulance to Progress West Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short while later. Officers stated that Luckett was wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision.

The driver of the Maxima, 59-year-old Bryan C. Powell, a resident of Defiance, was also transported to a local medical facility. His injuries were classified as serious.

His passengers, 48-year-old Jamie E. Powell, a resident of Defiance, and 27-year-old Charles E. Bennett, a resident of St. Louis, both sustained moderate injuries. Officers said that all of the Maxima’s occupants were buckled up.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim, Mr. Justin R. Luckett, at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
