Grand River Twp., MO – Joseph Monteil Killed in Pedestrian Crash on E 299th St
Grand River Twp., MO (October 6, 2020) – An automobile accident in Cass County claimed one man’s life on Sunday. At approximately 11:35 p.m., on October 4, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the site of a crash on East 299th Street.
According to reports provided by the MSHP, 54-year-old Thomas Hopkins was driving a 1989 Chevrolet pickup truck north on East 299th Street when he struck a pedestrian near the intersection with Outer Road.
The pedestrian, who was identified as 30-year-old Joseph Monteil, was critically injured in the accident. He was transported by EMS to Cass Regional Hospital where he passed away from his injuries.
Investigations surrounding the collision are currently underway with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
