Kansas City, MO - One Killed, Two Injured Including Child in Motorcycle Accident on Blue Ridge Blvd
Kansas City, MO (August 10, 2021) - Police in Kansas City are investigating the cause of an accident where the driver of a car lost control of the vehicle and struck a motorcycle on Tuesday, August 10th, killing one person and causing injury to two others, including a toddler.
Investigators said that the accident took place at about 1:00 a.m. near the intersection of Blue Ridge Boulevard and East 77th Street when a Mercedes sedan was traveling southbound and the driver lost control, swerved over the centerline of the roadway, and crashed into an oncoming Victory motorcycle.
The driver of the Mercedes, who has since been identified as a 23-year-old male from Kansas City, died at the scene.
A 17-month-old toddler, also in the Mercedes at the time of the accident, was transported via ambulance to a local hospital and is currently listed in stable condition.
The driver of the motorcycle, identified as a 50-year-old man from Kansas City, was also transported with injuries classified as critical.
This accident is under investigation.
