Carthage, MO - Barbara Pitcock Died in Accident on MO-171
Carthage, MO (January 01, 2021) - A fatal collision took place on Thursday, December 31st in Carthage on State Highway 171.
Highway patrol reports show that a 2013 Nissan Maxima ran off the righthand side of the roadway and struck a traffic control support post. The force of the impact caused the Maxima to turn and flip over before coming to a stop in the roadway.
The driver, a 74-year-old male from Carthage, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
The vehicle’s passenger, 81-year-old Barbara J. Pitcock, also from Carthage, was pronounced dead on the scene.
