Columbia, MO - Tina Rains Killed in Accident on Rt K at Old Plank Rd
Columbia, MO (March 24, 2021) - One woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle head-on accident on Friday, March 19th.
According to officials, the accident took place at about 5:00 p.m. on Route K, in the area of Old Plank Road. Joseph Richards, 34, and Tina Rains, 43.
When 34-year-old Joseph Richards neglected to decelerate as he approached stopped traffic, causing him to swerve across the centerline into oncoming traffic, where he crashed head-first with a vehicle driven by 43-year-old Tina Rains.
Rains was pronounced dead on the scene by the Boone County medical examiner's office.
Richards sustained injuries classified as non-life-threatening.
